Airtel 12-12-2014 Hearing the voice of the customers Employees of Airtel Seychelles, including its managing director, scoured the streets of Victoria earlier this week to solicit the views of the public on its customer service. By A. De Giorgio Airtel Seychelles recently made history by becoming the first telecommunications company in Seychelles - as well as the first out of the 17 Airtel group of companies in the African region - to launch a fourth generation (4G) wireless internet network. Now the company is focused on providing its clientele with not only the fastest but also the most convenient customer care service. “It’s true that we can receive all our customer’s complaints through Airtel’s call centre but what about those customers who do not bother to call and instead take the decision to switch from one telecom provider to another? I won’t receive that feedbacks just by sitting in my office; I therefore wanted to set an example for all our Airtel staff by taking to the streets of Victoria and interact directly with the general public,” said the managing director of Airtel Seychelles, Amadou Dina. Mr. Dina explained that the media can go a long way in promoting the company’s services but that it cannot help identify the glitches that can hinder their clients’ customer experience. He therefore believes that getting this feedback directly from the clients’ mouths will leave a far stronger impression on his team of technicians and sales assistants than, say, an email reporting the issue. Furthermore, he mentioned that the entire Airtel workforce, regardless of job titles, has been dispatched throughout the capital of Seychelles to promote Airtel’s latest products and services and, most importantly, take onboard constructive feedback. Dubbed the “voice of the customers”, this exercise is expected to be carried out until later today. He stated that the feedback collected during the three-day exercise will then be discussed by the Airtel management in order to find immediate and alternative solutions. Mr. Dina also pointed out that today marks Airtel’s 16th anniversary in Seychelles. He revealed that the company will not be throwing any lavish parties but has chosen instead to celebrate it in a much more humble way, namely by organising a Family Day Out for its employees and their children tomorrow at the Paradis des Enfants fun park in Victoria. Neither has Airtel Seychelles forgotten about the less fortunate during this festive season. It has invited the disabled children of Seychelles to join the fun of this Saturday’s event. TODAY wishes Airtel a very happy 16th birthday!
