Airtel India just announced that they will charge extra for VoIP - TopicsExpress

Airtel India just announced that they will charge extra for VoIP data on prepaid phones. This is a gross violation of net-neutrality. On their website, the company states that By 2015, Airtel will be the most loved brand, enriching the lives of millions. I fail to see how erecting barriers to communication achieves that. This move, if ratified, can act as a precedent that allows telecoms to charge extra for services like Whatsapp, BBM and Facebook. In the interests of the consumer, it must not be allowed to go through. Please visit the link below to know more about the issue, and write in to the relevant officials to petition against this move.
