Al Rayyan Coach: Jimenez Player: Abdullah Alawi Spanish Coach of Al Rayyan, Jimenez, said at the pre-match press conference of Round 2 of Emir Cup: “We expect the players to give their all tomorrow. We have young players that are ready to perform very well. We can’t play with less than 20 players but we did in the league so imagine how difficult it was to play with less than 20 players. The team that played this season isn’t the team that played last season. We have to motivate the players to play better. Al Rayyan needs to achieve great results in the future.” He added: “I’m very proud to be the coach of Al Rayyan, maybe it wasn’t our best season this year but I assure you that the players will play their best.” Abdullah Alawi, Al Rayyan player said: “We had a bad season but we will try to focus on Emir Cup and specifically the match tomorrow. The Cup is different from the league because it has a playoff format. Hopefully we will play our best tomorrow.” Al Khraitiyat Coach: Bertrand Marchand Player: Nabeel Anwar Coach Bertrand Marchand of Al Khraitiyat, said: “It will be an important match against Al Rayyan. This is a Cup, so all matches are decisive. Al Rayyan was relegated but it doesn’t mean they don’t have good players. They have many players that played in their last match, who also played in last year’s Emir Cup. The Cup matches always have an attacking strategy unlike the league, where it’s over a long period of time. Nabeel Anward, player of Al Khraitiyat said: “Tomorrow’s match is a big match for us. Al Rayyan is a big team regardless of their performance during the season and they have a huge fan base that supports them. It won’t be a surprise if we win or if they win. We hope to be ready and qualify to the next round.”
