Alabama Crop Report . . . Rain in parts of Alabama has slowed he harvest and field activities with some freeze damage in Northeast AL to cotton and soybeans. Cotton is 35% harvested with peanuts at 85% and soybeans, 45%. Winter wheat planting is at 30% completion. Crop conditions are substantially good with 85% of the soybeans rated good to excellent; 50% of peanuts rated at that level along with 70% of cotton and 91% of wheat. Livestock conditions are at 85% good to excellent and pastures at 60% good to excellent rating. Three-fourths of Alabama is drought free with dry zones forming in the northern and southwestern counties, but compare favorably with soil moisture conditions of the past two years.
