Alam nyo bakit ako di naging tibak ng college ako sa UP? I was so fired up about radicalism when I left the seminary and transfered to UP. But I was so eager to read all the books we didnt have in the seminary -Althusser, Lukacs, Adorno, Foucault, etc-- that I ended up not joining any student org. I was recruited by LFS. But I decided to stay away because I was so engrossed reading the debates on dependency theory, feminism, eco-feminism, and postmodernism. Then I concluded I was a better radical because I was up-to-date. And because of this I always submitted better papers and thesis. I was convinced I should stay as independent radical. But I was wrong. Looking back, I should have been a LFS member. One cannot remain an independent radical and think without integrating with the masses and the peoples movement. If one does such stunt, you end up feeling like a churchless prophet preaching ones own theory to people who already have the experience and the right theory. Mayabang lang ako nun at karerista. May God and the people forgive me. May you learn from my youthful mistakes.
