Album 120. ZZ TOP, Eliminator. My wiffy has gone down so Im having to use my data, grr. So 1983 saw the release of ZZ Tops biggest selling album ever, Eliminator. This has sold well it even has a Diamond certification. Their previous album had a wafer thin slice of synthesisers on it and for this album they went the whole hog, they even used a drum machine, poor Frank. By 1984, they released the single Legs this too was heavily synthesised and got huge MTV rotation, the single was so synthesised it became a club hit! I mean they moan about the 80s power ballads but having a club hit is surely more of an insult. There are a few hidden gems of the blues rock ZZ do well but it was the 80s, and cars, girls and long beards sold. Rating: 8/10 Best Track: Got me under pressure. Lyric to put on a t-shirt: I got the six, gimme your nine. Dont have a chest length beard so a scarf will have to do
