Albury Police Local Media Release 5pm Monday 6th October 2014 - Assault Upon Woman Union Road, Lavington. Between 3am and 3.30am Monday 6/10/14, a 19 year old Thurgoona woman was walking along Union Road, Lavington, towards the Hume Freeway underpass. About this time she was approached by 5 men in a motor vehicle. Following a brief discussion and fearing for her safety the woman commenced to run from the men before being chased and pushed to the ground where she was punched and kicked a number of times. She was able to break free from the men, ran from them and reported the matter. The woman underwent a number of scans at Albury Base Hospital today before being released after lunch suffering from bruising to her face. She has described the men of varying ages as being in a white dual cab utility. This assault as most would imagine was a most traumatic incident and one in which we are seeking information from public.
