I remember it clearly: you were standing on 10th street with a few young people and a baby, caught up in banal conversation and yearning for someone or something to rescue you from your tedium. Thats when I came into the picture. At the exact moment I brushed past you, you yawned - I knew what this meant!! This was a cry for help! You were saying please! Emma! What wretched company I have here! Please walk ahead three feet, pause, turn back around, slowly retrace your steps, and linger around me and gawk for 30 uncomfortable seconds before heading on your way!! I understood, and I did just that. As I returned, you communicated yet another message; you said I think its going to rain. Again, I knew what this meant. You were saying how fast the moments go when youre near to me; I feel each second slipping away and from my eyes will soon pour buckets of tears at the thought of losing you. To this I say, ditto.
