Alex had a day off for spring break so we did what I thought about doing a couple weeks ago: We road tripped to the closest showing of Hayao Miyazakis The Wind Rises. We ended up driving to Montage Mtn. just outside of Scranton. The movie was completely worth the trip! Definitely one of Miazakis best. Even more poignant than I was expecting. Not a movie for little children. Definitely helps to have some early 20th century historical perspective to fully appreciate this movie. As for me I thoroughly enjoyed it! The movie may be perceived by some to be somewhat controversial but, simply as a work of art it is (almost needless to say) exceptional. Alex thought it was one of the best movies hes seen.
