Alhaji Oladokun Habibu Oki - the Baba Oja of Ladipo International - TopicsExpress

Alhaji Oladokun Habibu Oki - the Baba Oja of Ladipo International market led administration is set to restore confidence of the general public, to bring sanity back to the market and make it a CLEAN and SAFE place for all and sundry to transact their legitimate businesses without fear of molestation, intimidation, harassment or being defrauded, all of which has characterized the operations and conducts of the Igbo traders in the market and that of the so called unpopular LACEC. It is pertinent to clear the air on the issue of Baba Oja of the market. The issue is not about Alhaji Oki imposing himself on anybody as being misconstrued by our Igbo brothers in the market but rather it is all about having respect and regards for a constituted authority that install him as the Baba Oja. As we all know every society have their customs and traditions and in the South-West of Nigeria it is customary for all the markets to be headed by Baba Oja or Iya Oja as the case may be, they are usually appointed by the government after meeting certain conditions and Ladipo market is not an exception. The mayhem and violence that greeted the normal thursday market environmental sanitation of 25th July, 2013 in the market, when law abiding citizens of Lagos State were grievously attacked while carrying out there civic responsibility was uncalled for and highly barbaric to say the least. For some group of people to take law into there hands and perpetrate such a dastardly act on innocent people that are cleaning the market is a so worrisome and calls for serious attention and concern in the state. Even if there are issues, a civilized group or people have the constitutional right to go to court of law and seek redress rather than resorting to violence and hooliganism because the world has since passed this primitive and barbaric behavior being exhibited by these lawless human beings.
