Alien Isolation: Dark Souls in Space Dark Souls in Space - TopicsExpress

Alien Isolation: Dark Souls in Space Dark Souls in Space certainly will be heaven to the masochistic gamer but will be a tedious, cheap grind to others. The game perfectly captures the aesthetic of the 1979 film and its important to remember just what that film was: a terrifying journey where nearly everyone dies and the protagonist kills the Alien mostly by accident. Alien Isolation is brutal with the amount of times it kills the player. A quixotic AI is either brilliantly advanced or, as I suspect, extraordinarily cheap simply tipping off Alien AI to the players location. If the Alien sees you, you die. The player will die a lot. With no check points and a manual save system. The 21 hour playtime is all hiding under tables, peeking around corners, and spending minutes sneaking down the same hallway for the third time just in time to get shockingly speared through the back. This is someones idea of fun but not one I share. Buy at your peril.
