All Chapel Fellowship 5.1K-Run-Prayer-Walk-Stroll honoring Chaplain John F Keith, former Deputy Command Chaplain, Naval Support Activity (NSA) Naples, and North American Mission Board (NAMB) endorsed chaplain, Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Over 220 sailors and family members participated during the first ever All Chapel Fellowship 5.1K-Run-Prayer-Walk-Stroll honoring Chaplain John F Keith, former Deputy Command Chaplain, Naval Support Activity (NSA) Naples, and North American Mission Board (NAMB) endorsed chaplain, Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) on June 29, 2014 at Naval Support Activity, Naples, Support Site. The historic 5.1K chapel-sponsored event was held after the Sunday Church services. The 5.1 K Run/Prayer-Walk/Stroll started from and ended at the parking lot behind the Chapel/TLF Piazza area. 5.1K is based on Romans 5:1 (NKJV) Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. It talks about Peace with God. Everyone who finished the race was a winner. Protestant, Evangelical and Roman Catholic congregations enjoyed the 5.1 run/prayer-walk and fellowship following the moment of silence and prayers. RADM Christopher J. Murray, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (J3), JFC Naples, and active member of the chapel, thanked everyone for joining the event and remembering his good friend, Chaplain Keith. Sam Weitzman played “Amazing Grace” during moment of silence and prelude at the starts of the race. The NSA Naples High School Football (The Wildcats) Team, the NSA Naples Fire Department supported the event as well sailors from NSA Naples Security and Security Gaeta Detachment. Other groups that contributed to the events include: Sailors from 2nd Class and 1st Class Associations, NH Naples Culinary Specialists, FIL-AM of Naples, USO Naples, and many, many others who worked behind the scene. An inflatable child’s bouncy, complements of NSA Naples Fire Department for kids, was available for kids in attendance. Chapel volunteers were recognized for their volunteer efforts during the fellowship time. In support of FFF (Feds Feed Families) participants were encouraged to bring non-perishable goods to help the hungry. Food donated will help our junior sailors and local church who reaches out to the poor and hungry in our community. Chapel member Beverly Jacobson said, “Thanks to all who coordinated this event! It was such a joy to spend the evening with many of my very favorite people. I think heaven will involve a lengthy church potluck.” Lori Keith, Chaplain’s Keith sister said, “Sooo heart felt for my brother John... my heart is heavy yet I know he has perfect peace with our Heavenly Father!” Regina Keith, Chaplain Keith’s wife, commented: “Thank you for the overwhelming show of support with todays fun run in memory of a well-loved Chaplain, my loving husband John. The heat did not deter. It was great to see so many of you out there - our NSA and chapel families, our Wildcats football team, Sailors young and old run/walk/stroll! An event like this could not be made possible without those who are behind the scenes to make this community effort a great success! Thank you ALL! A huge thank you to Chaplain Don Biadog, all of our Chaplains and their RPs, the Fire Dept, the USO, Sam Weitzman, all of the volunteers who gave out water and manned the road, the Fil-Am community for the delicious food, Naples and Gaeta Security for manning the BBQ grill, and so many more. Though he is greatly missed, his memory lives on through the testimonies and the countless stories youve shared with me. Thank you for loving on Josh and I and sharing in this journey with us. You have all been a demonstration of Gods love, grace and mercy.”
