All, The 2015 rules have been posted (link at the bottom of this note). Additionally, I have attached a simplified redline of the changes to this post so that everyone can see the relevant updates (not including any formatting type alterations). The material rule changes are twofold: 1. The minimum weight has been reduced to 2870 from 2900 lbs. We will continue to evaluate the weight rule during the 2015 season to see if an additional incremental adjustment is warranted for the 2016 season. Please expect to have your car weighed regularly during a racer weekend. 2. The rules now allow up to a 0.13 spacer (shim or washer are most common) on each side of the front axle between the king pin and strut housing. This change has been included as it enables competitors to both increase camber (up to 0.3 - 0.4 degrees) and correct for side-to-side differences in the chasis. Pre-made shim or washer kits are available from providers such as Bimmerworld ($25) or Turner ($16), or can be sourced through McMaster Carr. It is highly recommended that when making this change a new bolt is used of at least Class 10.9 hardware and Loctite is used when installing. A realignment is also recommended. Other minor clarification rule changes have also been made to address questions provided to me throughout the last year. These clarifications include the rear bumper trim, intake filter, ducting from headlight to intake, required vinyl, ethanol stabilizers, and a couple more. As always, the input from racers is invaluable to this process and we hope that each of you continues to provide feedback throughout each season. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me directly or respond to this post. 2015 Rules Posted: https://nasa-assets.s3.amazonaws/document/document/198/Spec3_2015_Regulations.pdf
