All eyes on Vance and a cold front to the northwest as the two - TopicsExpress

All eyes on Vance and a cold front to the northwest as the two could combine to produce a very heavy rain even across much of Texas. Hurricane Vance is forecast to continue on a NNE path by the National Hurricane Center. Even though it will likely dissipate over western Mexico, large amounts of moisture from the storm will be channeled into Texas by upper level winds associated with a trough that will also steer a cold front that will arrive in San Antonio Tuesday evening. It will remain mild and breezy through Tuesday, and that persistent southerly wind will draw a lot of humidity from the Gulf of Mexico as well - so it appears the front will have a lot of moisture to wring out. Lots of clouds with some patch morning drizzle on Monday. Even more clouds & drizzle Tuesday morning with a few scattered showers during the day on Tuesday. Tuesday night and Wednesday morning look to be very wet. Keep in mind, this is still 2-3 days away, and there is A LOT of disagreement between the models as to how much rain is going to fall, and where the heaviest amounts will fall, but with those models generally forecasting 1 to up to 5 of rain by Thursday morning for much of South and Central Texas, this situation will be watch closely for the threat of flash flooding. #TXwx #SATwx #AUSwx
