All, greetings and thank you for your time. 2014 has been the most tumultuous year in the eight year existence of this group, a whirlwind of social upheaval roiled through this country and throughout the world, as never before, seemingly turning history upon its head and giving us all a sometimes glorious but unfortunately mostly ugly eye-witness view of current events. Looking back in retrospect upon this year, there were so many precedents set, goals attained, accomplishments celebrated, but too often dreams deferred or denied. We hope we can take some of the good into the new year and new horizon that is upon us. Not as consolation, but as confidence. A few seeds of positive knowledge can build a strong tree, if nurtured. We hope you learned a little in this space. That the most powerful man on Wall Street is a black man. Reggie Browne. That the most powerful woman on Wall Street is a black woman. Suzanne Shank. That astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison is not an exception, nor an anomaly, but she is among a whole entire sorority of intelligent and accomplished black women in the sciences. That a 30-year old black man has the fearlessness and audacity to creator a product to create with the giants of Schick, Gillette and Procter & Gamble. Tristan Walker That a little black girl in Texas can create a lemonade so goo that she gets shelf space and a million dollar contract from Whole Foods! Mikaila Ulmer That a black man out in Oakland, CA, my main man Van Jones, is on a mission to teach every black boy and black girl in America, computer coding, or die trying. Peace and abundance to each and everyone of you into the upcoming new year of 2015, and now, and forevermore. -- The Black Hedge Fund Group
