All in 30 days... The last month for me has really been quite a journey. Along the way I said goodbye to a dear colleague who had also become someone near and dear to my heart. And then a week later I said goodbye to my long time friend in life and ministry... Lisa Calhoun. My heart still hasnt reconciled her absence...even now as I reminisce about her, tears start to escape and demand their freedom. In the midst of all the loss, the team I work with had to plan and execute a major conference and needless to say we encountered some major challenges but God being God...it turned out very successful. A week after the conference, I was off to surgery...my first time ever being hospitalized. The hardest thing for me lately is being still and confined, but I have no choice if I want to recover and be totally healed. I have had to depend on others for so much that it has made me totally uncomfortable. Simple things like getting in and out of bed, putting on undergarments, cooking and early on drying parts of my body I could not reach. Thank God, I am able to do most of those things myself now, but what I have learned is we ALL need somebody at some point and time. Yes, God is always with us, but there are times in life when you simply need people...the extension of Gods arms and legs on earth. For me, my help came from people I would have not necessarily thought would be there for me, but when you sew seeds...just know you shall reap. It might not come from those in whose lives you have sewn, but just as sure as you have sewn, you shall reap. I am so grateful to all of those who have been there for me and have been my support during this very unfamiliar time. I choose to be only grateful during this time. It has been a real whirlwind but I choose gratefulness nonetheless. I am also very excited, because when you go through a season of tears you have nothing to look forward to but His Joy which comes in your morning time. Its Morning for me now and Im excited!
