All is quiet in the Nelson house...why? Cause Mrs. Nelson is losing her voice again :( Kids at school kept saying, Why are you doing that with your voice? or Why do you sound funny? The ENT (Voice specialist) did a scope last spring to rule out any physical issues with my voice. Basically, he told me that due to stress (wonder where that comes from?) the muscles in my neck, throat & shoulders are so tight that my voice box cannot vibrate the way its supposed to. Theres a 27 letter name for it that I cant remember. Anyway, Im not feeling stressed but apparently I cant convince my voice of that :) I use a microphone in class. Ive got an awesome ECE who did most of the talking today & I should be doing less talking overall as theres now 2 of us in the room all the time. Ive been doing yoga, getting weekly/biweekly massages and voice therapy since school got out in June. Havent really been able to sing properly since last Christmas. Getting frustrated!!!! Suggestions? Besides the obvious Dont Talk! Kind of hard as a K teacher.
