All night my mind races with questions. Call dad on the way home. He cant sleep good, breathing is difficult when laying down. Short of breath with activity. Typical A fib, CHF and Cardiomyopathy symptoms. I called the MD and had him seen again in the office today. Mom asked, what do you think he needs? Me - elevation while sleeping, diuretic, low sodium, and blood thinner. She gets to the office and he said, you need to sleep with a few pillows propped up, Im gonna give you lasix to get rid of excessive fluid and a blood thinner and you need to watch your salt intake I asked him several questions and he thinks he will need the cardio version also. He wants him on blood thinners for several weeks before they try that and he said Your dad might need a bi-ventricular pacemaker too. After all this dads arguing about needing to work ! (construction) He is seriously stubborn ! Finally I have to say to him you cant work if youre dead ! then Im aggravated at myself for saying that ! But how do I get through to someone so stubborn without putting it bluntly ! My verbal communication isnt the best so hear goes in words.... Dad, we love you, we need you in our lives, your grandchildren need you in theirs too ! So please take care of yourself. I love you !!! Love, your stubborn daughter!
