All of us are impacted by the DeMoulas/Market Basket situation in - TopicsExpress

All of us are impacted by the DeMoulas/Market Basket situation in some way and we approach a week where I believe outside forces, the Department of Labor and MA/NH Attorneys General, will use the law to mandate this matter. Therefore, as we approach Sunday, the traditional family day, I ask that you pray for both sides of the DeMoulas Families and that they put any ill feelings behind them and move forward with love in their hearts and are able to realize how employees, families, customers, and the general public are being negatively impacted by their actions and inactions. Also remember that an innocent young lady was hit by a truck while expressing her beliefs. Artie T. and extended family, you have helped me since the age of 15 when you hired, promoted, and allowed me to become part of the family at Haverhill #15 like so many others. Please think and act in the footsteps of Mike (Telemachus) who would allow the extended family to maintain their dignity despite the trauma they have caused your beloved employees and customers. Arthur S. and family, please remember that it is Mikes family who worked in the family business since 1973, took the interest in its expansion (Artie T was on deck with us when the first Salem, NH store was opened), and grew Market Basket to its current level of success. Each of you had different interests and are to be commended on your successes including entrepreneurs, philanthropy, an interior design firm, a winery, and an acting career. I pray that you all use the wisdom that George gave you by not bringing the employees and Market Basket to its knees. In closing, I pray that all of you relieve the uncertainty that the employees and their families suffer from day to day. These kind folks do not have your wealth but certainly do have all the same dreams and aspirations as you do. Their family plans have been cancelled because of lack of finances, customers, direction from the co-CEOs, and threats of Job Fairs that are for the jobs they currently hold. Finally, please realize that employee loyalty is unwavering and the EMPTY STORES IS THE FAULT OF WE CUSTOMERS who see the American Dream carried out by a wonderful family of Greek immigrants who settled in Lowell, Massachusetts and want that to continue for generations.
