The little grave is that of the son of Bahadurshah Zafar, shot in cold blood by Gen Nicholson in Chandni Chowk, after the Mutiny. Questions ??? i) Was Shah Shujas body recovered? Brought to Delhi for internment? (There are a thousand different tales about Shuja’s fate but nothing could be conclusive). ii) Murad Bakshs body was buried in the Traitors Cemetery of Gwalior. Then how is his Cenotaph present in Delhi? Forty years afterwards, Aurangzeb, then an old man, referred to the grave of his murdered brother (Murad), it is said.
