All right, I have dealt with the Michael Brown decision in silence because of the constant wave of misinformation on both sides of the case. I have remained off social media because my News-feed has been covered with people arguing the case to an inch of his life. I have tried to remain hopeful that as a nation that we could learn from that tragedy, (and no matter whose side you are on the death of a young man is a tragedy.) but this is the dumbest shit I have ever heard or seen. I worked in a group home that had strict rules on how to physically subdue another person who is acting violent (which Garner is not) and the very first rule is that you never restrict an airway, ever. The fact that there is a video showing the incident and there was not even a trial is people saying that the life a black citizen is not as important as inconveniencing the police department. We as citizens have to stop this, this is how all coups start and the fact that we are not backing up our fellow brothers is the worst crime ever committed. I could stomach if both police officers were found not guilty by a trial. I could stomach if Michael Brown and Eric Garner had there chance at justice just like what would have happened if Darren Wilson did not shoot Michael Brown or this guy would have been arrested for whatever made up crime they are accusing him of. I hated the George ZImmerman decision but at least it was a jury decision. Police officers are working outside the law and becoming more and more a violent and seemingly no one cares to stop it. This is the very first step of the US becoming a authoritarian society, not Obamacare, not allowing illegal aliens to remain in this country. By giving consent to these actions we are part of the problem and it does not matter if you are White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, or an advanced sauropod species from the Andromeda galaxy that is living as a country singer that is also a crossover pop star (Shake it off, Taylor I see that neck) This bullshit has to stop because it is already out of hand and I do not want to see where it goes from here.
