Stanley studies balance sheet millionaires in America and claims that our assumptions about the wealthy and how they spend their money is downright wrong. Some insightful statistics from his research on millionaires and decamillionaires (those worth more than 10 million), - The car model most driven by millionaires is a Toyota. - Most millionaires live in moderately priced homes costing under $300,000. 90% of all American millionaires live in homes costing less than 1 million. - 64% of millionaires surveyed never owned a vacation home, beach home or mountain cabin. - 70% of millionaires in America have never owned a boat. 66% of decamillionaries have never owned a boat - Only 7% of new car sales in America were to millionaires. Millionaries don’t buy new cars, they buy used cars. - The average price for a haircut for a millionaires is $16 - The average price for a suit for decamillionairs was $482.
