All the Pharmacists of India Please read this msg carefully.... This is a mail I (Naisarg Pujara) wrote to Vinay Kumar, member of IPGA, Delhi. This mail consists of 20 suggestions for the betterment of our Pharma Profession.... If anyone want to write any suggestion for the betterment of our Pharmacy Profession please send your suggestions via mail to: vinay2007.kr@gmail and rxas2008@gmail Respected sir, Myself Naisarg Pujara, I have completed my M Pharm in Pharmaceutics from S J Thakkar Pharmacy College, Rajkot, Gujarat, India. Presently I am working as a Pharmacist cum Data Assistant at Gondal Taluka, Rajkot District, Gujarat for NRHM under RBSK program. I have few suggestions for the betterment of our Pharma Profession: 1) If MSC pharmacology is eligible to teach in MBBS as per MCI guidelines then why not M.Pharm pharmacology. After all the syllabus of pharmacology in MBBS is as Same as in B. Pharm and M.Pharm. I think this can be done. 2) There must be compulsary presence of a registered pharmacist at each and every medical store in all over India with minimum wages of Rs. 20000 to 25000 per month ( Working time: 8 Hours only). 3) There must be compulsary presence of Pharmacist at each and every Healthcare sector related programs working all over the country. 4) The pay scale of Pharmacist under NRHM scheme must be raised so as to motivate our Pharmacy Profession. (Minimum wages of Rs. 20000/ month). 5) There must be permanent recruitment posts for pharmacist in Govt. Sector related to Healthcare programs. (Contractual recruitment for Pharmacist is injustice to our Profession). 6) There must be a strong Pharma Security Act to prevent all the injustice being done by Govt. Of India and Pharma Indusrties. The Act must include compulsary recruitment of Pharmacist in Pharma Industries and students of other fields such Bsc. Msc. B etc are strictly prohibited for entrance in Pharma Industry. 7) There a Resprentative of Pharmacy in the Parliament so that We can raise our voice very well against the injustice being done to our Profession. 8) More and More recruitments must be made by the Govt. Of India in every Healthcare programs runned by our Govt. 9) Pharmacist of each and every state must be treated equally so as to provide justice to all the Pharmacists of India in context to pay scale and recruitment process. This means that the Pharmacist working in any part of the country he/she must get equal oppurtunity and pay scale. 10) There must an inclusion of Pharmacy subject in UPSC and other National & State level examinations. 11) All the Pharmacy colleges of India must have an individual Placement Cell for various placements in Pharma industries. 12) There must be immediate recruitment process for all the vacant posts for Pharmacist in various healthcare programs on permanent basis and not on contractual basis with minimum salary of Rs. 20000/month. 13) Immediate filling up of the vacant posts of Pharmacist at Primary Health Centers (PHC), Community Health Centers (CHC), Urban Health Centers (UHC), District Hospitals (DH), State Hospitals (SH) and AIIMS. 14) Opening of Highly Infrastructed Pharmacy Institutes like NIPER with Research Centers in every state of India to encourage students to join Pharmacy Profession. 15) Unneccesary openings of lots of Pharmacy colleges is one of the reason for the lay down of our profession. So close those Pharmacy colleges who dont have enough resources and basic infrastructure to run the Pharmacy colleges. By doing this the students will get quality education about Pharmacy and competition between students will raise which in turn is good for our Profession. 16) There must be an opening of Pharmacy University in each and every state of India same as Ayurvedic University, Forensic University, Technical University, etc. By creating Individual Pharmacy University in each state, all the Pharmacy colleges of respective state will be affliated to their particular state Pharmacy University and that will reduce the burden of AICTE. 17) There must be a centralized Pharmacy University at Delhi to keep in control of all the state Pharmacy Universities just like AICTE is working for Engineering Field. 18) There must be an increase in salary from Rs. 15000 to atleast Rs. 25000/month for all the Assistant Professors and lecturers (Fresh Entry) who are working or willing to join in various Pharmacy colleges. 19) During the recruitment process of various posts in various departments of Pharma Industry like Research & Development, Formulation & Development, ADL, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Production, Patent Cell, etc. There must be an equal oppurtunity given to the freshers so as to avoid imbalance between freshers and experienced professionals. 50% posts for Freshers and 50% posts for Experienced in every recruitment process for any possible post in Pharma Industry. 20) There must be sufficient Govt Pharmacy Colleges with proper infrastructure and resources (atleast 5 colleges) in every state to provide quality Pharmacy education to the needy students who deserves to a Pharmacist. This will in result increase the competition between students to get admitted to the Govt. Pharmacy colleges and encourage them to join our Pharmacy Profession. These are some of the suggestions which I think they must be implemented so as to save our Profession, to encourage our Profession, to provide proper justice to our profession and tou better of our Profession. Thanks for your anticipation in reading these suggestions. I am waiting for the implementation of the above mentioned suggestions in the nearby future. I hope you will reply to this mail as soon as possible with fruitful response. Proud to be a PHARMACIST. Thank you once again. Yours Faithfully, Naisarg Pujara.
