All this comes from DRIVING toooo fast Im conditions like this; being in a hurry. When in reality whether its snowing and or raining, NO ONE should be doing any aggressive driving and/or tailgating. All this proves is now each person involved has just had their travel time extended, some perhaps indefinitely; all because we live in a society of hurry hurry, right now, me, me, me! With 0 (zero) visibility where you cant see any further than your headlights, no one should be driving more than 30mph; slow yes, but I guarantee IF you come upon an incident like this you wont be one of the ones involved. If you do have visibility, keep 40 second drive space between you and the driver ahead....allow them to pass a sign, when the rear of their car crosses, began counting: 1, 1000; 2, 1000....until the front of your car reaches the sign and you have counted 40 seconds TIL your car reaches there. Stop tailgating, if you can not see the rear tires of the car in front of you ON the pavement; you are toooooo close. If someone comes behind and hits you, you will hit the car in front of you, causing an accident as well. Will driving cautiously extend your drive time? Maybe, but if youre involved in an accident, your drive time has been extended anyway. Will it make you late for work, perhaps, but if your hurt in an accident on your way to work, depending on your injuries, your job will most likely replace before 60 days are up but youre irreplaceable to your family. So lets drive careful and drive for the other person, meaning, you implement safely skills that will most likely safe both of you.
