All this corporal punishment talk that have Trinidad and Tobago in a trance...........I dont believe in licks never did and never will growing up back in the seventies my parents never beat us maybe a ring ears here and there a lil tap on your head ...sit in a corner......or outside in the sun....or no way for u to go and this is how me and my three sisters Asha Ramganess....Leela Mohammed......and Kavi Ram were raise ,we taught how to respect our elders....how to be kind and even if u saw ants on the road u have to say morning evening goodafternoon......my father use to when u see big ppl come here just disappear and my mother just had to watch u with those pair of eyes ...I a mother of 4children....married for almost 27years and if my mother give me that look I done know shut up Chan Ragoobir........but today what do we teach our children we buy them world but we dont teach them respect so they are going to learn anything our biggest line to our children is if u be good today I will buy u a present........if they talk back to us we tell dont talk to me like that but if we put a stop to it right then and then it may never happen again.......we need to bulid a strong foundation of a relationship with our children talk to them about everything....teacher them about respect and doing the right thing we are not all perfect we all mess up sometimes......I think if we start to put our foot down say what we mean and mean what we say our children will definitely change and hopefully we dont have to resort to corporal punishment..........lord thank you for my kids...
