All three local golfers competing in the Ontario Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship have made the cut. Chris Frook of Georgian Bluffs and Steve Irving of Owen Sound are tied for 40th while Shawn Cowen of Pike Lake Golf Centre near Mount Forest is tied for 45th. Cowen had the best round among the local golfers, shooting 75, while Frook carded a 78 and Irving an 80. Frook and Irving ended up +9 after two days while the cut was at +12. Cowen is at +10. Former Boston Bruin Marc Savard shot 80-76 and failed to make the cut. The leader is Michael Rutgers of Erie Shores G& CC, who shot 68-70 and is at -4. The final round will be played Wednesday at Peterborough Golf and Country Club.
