All through the Bible when Gods people drifted from him and said they didnt need or want him anymore, it would give opportunity for their enemies to attack, invade and take over them. Then the Israelites would cry out to God in repentance and he would swoop in like a loving, forgiving Father and deliver them and he would be re-established as the God of Israel. The UK has drifted from Christ and has said they dont need/want him anymore and we are being attacked and invaded by enemies that seek to take over our nation by force and through political means. How long this goes on depends on how quickly we as a nation will return to Christ and repent of ever leaving him. When we do, he will return.
