All who left Egypt were Not Israelites. It was a mixed multitude. - TopicsExpress

All who left Egypt were Not Israelites. It was a mixed multitude. How do we know this. The Bible tells us so. :) If you study the history you can see that some were probably Semitic peoples, or Western Asiatics, were in fact living in Egypt and were traveling to and from there for centuries. They were Nomadic people. Many connected with the Exodus, were Levites. The Levites were members of the group associated with Moses, the Exodus, and the Sinai events depicted in the Bible. In the Torah, Moses is identified as a Levite. Many had Egyptian names: Moses, Phinehas, Hophni, and Hur are all Egyptian names. We can be reasonably sure that Moses wanted every one included since He brought out a mixed multitude. Moses’ saying “Let my people go” to the story of the event at the sea shows us that He included everyone that chose to become a Part. The first occurrence of the word “Torah” in the Torah, in Exodus 12, says, “You shall have one Torah for the citizen and the alien.” The Levite sources say it about 50 more times, and several times tell us why: “Because we were aliens in Egypt!”—we know how it feels. Once again this shows us that all were included. None were Isolated from being Torah Observant. In the story of the Exodus the Children of Israel are simply referred as the people and not by their proper name, the Children of Israel, as they usually are. I believe that the reason is because it was a mixed group. Understanding of these things are just many of the things that people have not been taught. Each detail is important and make a really big difference in how we see things. Opening the Word and finding these special nuggets and treasures can make a difference in how we see the BIG Picture and How it can become a part of Our Heart Mind and Soul. Truth is out there you just have to be willing to dig and find it.
