Alleged Acid Attack on Woman in AGRA: In the second such attack in Mathura in less than two months, a woman was attacked with acid late Sunday, while on her way home from a temple. An FIR has been lodged against three people at Govind Nagar police station in connection with this attack. Meera, 35, the wife of Bablu, a resident of Lakshmi Nagar, Mathura, was attacked at about 8 pm on Sunday while returning from the Galteshwar Mahadev temple. The accused in the case were identified as Umesh, Gyani and Hakim. One of the three has been arrested. Circle officer Anil Yadav said the acid attack survivor complained that the attack occurred over a family dispute. She said the men who attacked her had earlier beaten up her husband. Meera was rushed to the district hospital. Doctors said she had suffered severe burn injuries on the back and neck, but was recovering. On April 27 this year, three members of a family were attacked with acid in Mathura over a dispute relating to the quality of a burger at a restaurant.
