Allow me to take yall to my 8th grade history class. Everyone wants to blame the president for the government shut down. But see the lead framer of our constitution James Madison adopted something called the Virginia plan. The Virginia plan was another name for this thing called checks and balances. James Madison got this idea of checks and balances from a French enlightenment thinker named baron de Montesquieu who came up with this concept of 3 branches of government not 1 but 3 with equal power. This means that each branch has power but also limited power due to checks on them from other branches. I.e congress makes a law send it to the president the president can veto the law veto means to forbid in Latin. Congress can override that veto by 2/3 vote. Shid our country cant go To war without congress consent. The moral of this status is that congress has just as much if not more power than our president. The president is our leader that doesnt mean he has the most power. He didnt shut the government down congress did. and the majority of congress is .... Well you get the picture.
