Almighty God, our help and assistance, who is just and merciful, and who hears the prayers of Your people; let Your goodness be upon all that You have made. Bless, O God, those who are this day destitute, homeless, or forgotten by their fellow men. Bless the congregation of Your poor, dear God, and uplift those who are cast down. For those who suffer innocently, we pray that You would sanctify their endurance of the wrongs worked upon them, keeping their hearts free from bitterness. Remember, O Lord, according to the multitude of Your mercies, all who may be discouraged and unhappy, this day. Pour out upon them the riches of Your mercy, so that being redeemed in soul and body, and steadfast in faith, they may ever praise You. Though troubled on every side, suffer Your people not to be distressed; though perplexed, save us, O God, from despair. Grant this, O Lord, for the love of Him, who for our sakes endured poverty and blameless suffering, Your Son, our Saviour, Jesus the Christ. In His name, we do pray and declare it all. Amen.
