Almost 3 hour long video, and I have only been able to listen to half of it this far. The points that were brought up by both Hamza Yusuf and Tariq Ramadan are essential in the contemporary world we live in. They discuss how questioning the intention and the objective of our faithfulness is the mere essence of Islam. The importance of reforming Muslim minds, and Muslims understandings and NOT reforming Islam or changing its fundamentals. We have all these sheikh Googles running around justifying things as they please because they feel like it makes most sense to them, not realizing that the context in which it was delivered, the atmosphere, the environment could all impact that specific circumstance.To try and sum up what is being discussed wont do this discussion justice. Great lecture so far!!!
