Almost 3 weeks ago, I came home on a Friday night with a note taped on my apartment door giving me 48 hour notice from my management saying that bed bugs were found in an adjoining apartment(s) and they required me to let them in my apartment for an inspection. Later that night, my mother passed away and Saturday morning my daughters and I drove up to Phoenix n back. Sunday, preparing for missing work from two jobs and packing to be out-of-town, I asked management to respect my privacy as I was distraught and to forego the inspection and just spray (preventive measures, I thought) Their response was, We dont do things that way. And If I didnt let them in for inspection, I would out of compliance with my lease and I may not have a place to live. As cold and as heartless as I thought that was, they came in for inspection and IT WAS FOUND - THAT I DID NOT HAVE BED BUGS! (And no, they did not spray as as preventive messure)
