Almost a year ago I held the first ever Business in Heels - Bangkok event - it was a soft launch with 40 attendees at Zaks Wine Cocktail Pub. A relaxed evening surrounded by new friends and old, I smiled as I watched the ladies meet and mingle, exchange business cards and make lasting friendships. Business in Heels went on to hold its official launch at the beautiful Swissotel Nai Lert Park Bangkok with the generous help of Nikki Barltrop and her team, where we hosted a launch party for over 100 professional women. From the loud chatter and excited faces, I knew the Business in Heels concept had hit it off, a simple idea to provide a fun, relaxed environment for women to meet and form new connections. It was a buzz for me to see the ladies happy and excited connecting with others. For me, thats why I truly founded Business in Heels in Bangkok. Because I believe in helping others and that together we are stronger. I connect people all the time and I love seeing the amazing projects that come out of it. Now, a year later, Business in Heels has held over 6 successful events in Bangkok, each a little different, but each with the main goal of providing a space where professional women can connect, chat and find ways to help each other. Women network differently to men. We sell softly - we connect on a personal level first, talk about our kids, partners, travel experinces before talking about work. By hosting events for women only, we become less about competition and more about collaboration. We are now holding our final event for the year, Celebrating 2014 - The Year of Bangkoks Power Women and I truly think 2014 has been an amazing year for the ladies of Bangkok. With the launch of Business in Heels, many other groups for women have sprung up which shows the need for services for women.
