Almost everyone that follows my posts, supporters, friends, etc. know that I am a Social Worker (since 1982), and president of a Brazilian ONG or charity that is trying to build a small school and buy a property for the school. This property is presently owned by the heirs of a German that died last year ... and the only thing they want is to sell it. The heirs have no further interest in staying in Brazil other than the young lady, girlfriend, common law wife of the deceased. I am an American, retired merchant mariner, that has lived and worked in Brazil for some 40 years (since the mid 1970s). And I love and believe in the country and its people, especially the poor rural residents of the semi-arid northeast. I live on the income benefits from my USA Social Security and a few odd jobs I do on the side. Neither I, nor the other directors of the charity draw and salary. We are all volunteers and were also selected for the same reasons. Love for our adopted country. The last few years my health has gone down hill ... caused mostly by the fact that I was a smoker and have developed a disease called COPD, further by a stoke I suffered in 1999 which weakened my heart. This COPD I am fighting with oxygen therapy supported by the SUS, Public Health system, here in Brazil. The doctors claim that I could live a few more years with proper care. The ONG itself is supported by donations solely, BUT we, as intersted, can legally generate more income and help our students privately by offering them additional technology and fiscal benefits (equipment and means) to better their lives with Family Agriculture and Permaculture which is a means to substancially use due respect from nature. With this idea I have re-activated a small private company I created in 1982 - 32 years ago ... and as a separate activity I am seeking other private investors that might be interested. BUILDING CHICKEN COOP KITS AND OTHER RELATED EQUIPMENT. I also breed and sell a new type chicken recently developed by the Brazilian agriculture agency EMBRAPA (EMBRAPA 051), detailed in the project. To help raise the necessary capital I am seeking donations using a new system called CROWDFUNDING, which my friend Douglas introduced me to, combined with private partner investments.
