Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.- Gamma Epsilon and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.- Epsilon Delta invite you to the screening of the critically acclaimed documentary The Message. In his debut documentary film, Emmy Award Winner Martinez White, a 2010 UW-Madison alumnus, explores and investigates diversity efforts and Black students experiences on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Through objective interviews complimented by a subjective storyline, Martinez gives the audience a personal peek into his internal thought processes as a Black Badger on the UW campus. This film takes a profound approach to examining how students of color experience our campus and how classroom climate impacts their academic performance. In addition, the film expounds on their feelings of inclusion at a PWI (Predominantly White Institution) and subsequent implications for the quality of higher education in the United States. This event will take place on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the On Wisconsin Room of the Red Gym.
