Alright, I am about to post something controversial (at least, among my friends). I DISAGREE with this study (not a study at all, but a very biased survey), and the article as well. While I agree that Youth groups that divide the main weekly service are unbiblical, and that we are all to meet together on the first day of the week without exception, AND that it is ultimately the Father and Morthers job to spiritually train their children, to conclude from that that ANY type of age or gender segregation is forbidden or harmful is not only ludicrous, but a direct violation of scripture. Older women, in the church, are commanded to teach younger women in the church (2:4-5). This is age segregated ministry. Moreover, it is also gender segregated. Teens are not abandoning their faith because of Youth Groups. The problem is squishy teaching, squishy teachers, and squishy theology that allow these youth to think they had faith in the first place. They did NOT> They didnt leave the faith....they never entered it at all. Age segregated classes and activities are good....if they are done in a biblical fashion.
