Alright already here is the info yall been asking about. Yes, after 7 1/2 years I am leaving East Marion Elementary School. I am going to PRISON! My official title is Transition Facilitator. I will have 25 to 30 women in my class who will learn life skills that will help them to be successful when they return to society on the outside of the prison walls. I will teach them how to budget their money, balance a check book and to know that even if there are still checks, there is not necessarily money in the bank to cover them. Reading grocery store shelf labels etc. Skills that they may have forgotten or never known. These women have served their time and are going to resume their life again, hopefully more productively and the idea is that we will not see them back behind the fence again. So there you have it straight from the horses mouth. My last day will be Friday the 17th so I will start my new job at the prison on my birthday Monday Oct. the 20th. I know I will miss my EME family but it is time to move on and grow in another direction. Thank you for all the well wishes, I do appreciate every one of them. I will be seeing you around, but hopefully not behind the fence.
