Alright fine people, retro would depend on how old your are and the group is called mountain bike so say anything marketed that way would could safely be included. Correct me if Im wrong but most bikes now are referred to as off-road. So to me when I think of retro non-suspension comes to mind, Mafac, Shimano or Dia-Comp and either Charlies (WTB) roller cam or Suntours version of the same, IRC Racers 2.125s 1.75s or Specialize Outta Controls 1.95s as I liked to call them. Nylon toe clips and if you were cool you might even have WTB toe flips bolted to Suntour MP-1000s. You could have TAs or Specialized Touring triples( the thin ones) or whatever cheap ones came on the first $500 Grey SJ sports. You might have a Breeze hite-rite with the pump inside your seat tube or for those of us who had the tube silver soldered in the steer tube for after market bars (Helfrich Titanium) or Mark and Steve Potts chrome flat track bars with Maguras turned on the lathe and a custom stem from Steve, Ibis, or Jeff Lindsey sp? You might have a pipe custom turned inserted in the steering tube. And your seat (not saddle) was an Avocet Racing I /II or Selle Royal Turbo. Certainly there would be variations to this but if you have no idea half the stuff I mention......then maybe you should start your own group called When RockShox and clip less pedals were cool!
