Alright folks, as many of you might know - my birthday is coming up in a scant few weeks. I turn 29 (thats right, I am a fossil!) on August the 30th and I hope on that day to be at Black Rock City enjoying my first Burning Man. I have had a long and interesting life so far - and intend for it to continue a good, long time. Uprooting myself from Texas/Peru to Seattle was a long and arduous process, one which has left me sometimes lonesome, sometimes hungry, sometimes hurting - and always wondering what shoe drop will come next. That said, I am a simple creature to please - joy and happiness have found me, and I keep myself full of peoples stories, subsisting on that if nothing else. If you want to give me something that will make me happy, I guarantee your kindness passed onto others is more than enough. Knowing that the strain of making a material gesture might put someone out makes me nervous. I know its a custom in this place to give gifts, and if thats what youd like to do I am not too proud to accept them. Ive made a guide below for these gestures, because Im bad at accepting things. For others: Volunteer at the Beacon Food Forest! That one would be good. Meetings every Tuesday evening at 6:30-8:00pm, generally at the forest, sometimes not. Check out their FB page! My clients are out of movies - the DVDs are gone, pilfered from the housing complex where I work. If we could find some fun movies, thatd be nice. A used DVD drive would be splendid! For me: Edit: Burning Man Ticket/Leads (yeah I have the $$, but .. yeah.) Burning Man Equipment (Camelbak, goggles, space suits, etc) Life advice/consultation. I am about to go back to college - help. Storytelling support. Read my writing, encourage me to do it more. Poetry. Run a roleplaying game session for me. Treasure. Feathers, jewels and gemstones for my altar, sentimental things. The knife my friend gave to me. The magic book my lover wrote, full of runes of love and protection, and spells to keep me safe and warm. Drawings or paintings. Tools - I need a tiny anvil for working with jewelry. Tiny wire/bolt cutters and pliers for working metals. Toys. Warmachine stuff.. I want to play Retribution of Scryah because theyre pretty and shoot lasers. Im a little boy, of course I like toys. Board games, RPGs - I eat them up and laugh. Arkham Horror, Hero Quest, Legendary, etc Instruments (hand-me-downs if possible) Keyboard, lute, uke, harp, fiddle/violin..
