Alright people. The school day was extended this year due to the fact that ALL hours missed from in school instruction have to be made up. Every 2 hour delay, every day missed. The kids have to go a full 180 instructional days. I am glad they extended it those whole 8 minutes. The reason I am happy about it is because we seem to call off school awfully easily these days. I mean think about it, how often did you get a day off or a 2 hour delay 20 years ago? Weather varies from year to year but not that damn much and I recall winters being worse when I was younger. With that being said, a survey was conducted with all the parents of students in our school system. If you did not have the ability to do it online it was available in other places and they even had an article all about it in the paper telling everyone to be sure and fill out the survey. I will say the bus system still needs some work but those 8 minutes are not gonna ruin anyones day. You will be happy for it at the end of the year when the kids arent still in school through June. Quit whining and make your voice heard when your asked to or whenever you can in regards to the changes being made. Dont just pout and stomp your little feet after the fact.
