Also, do not forget that the goal of any given abolitionist society must be, in part, to work itself out of a job. That is, since abolition is an obligation of the church of Jesus Christ, abolitionists desire that local churches take up the work of abolition with all diligence and haste. When local churches in a given area have done so and are being faithful in that area, there is really no need for a society in that area. At that point, the questions of cooperation and oversight shift to those local churches and other abolitionists in the area, whether members of that/those local church(es) or not. These local churches would then adhere to the abolitionist ideology, and yet would still not be members of AHA or anything like that, since AHA is an ideology. Anyway, it is a category error to suggest that ideologies can have membership.
