Also visit: kiruthikaarun.blogspot.in/2013/06/coriander-dhal-idly.html Coriander Dhal Idly Ingredients: Idly Rice- 1 cup Coriander Leaves - 1 cup Grated coconut- 1/2 cup Moong Dhal- 1 small cup Onion -1 medium sized (Finely Chopped) Oil- 2 tbsp (1+1) Green Chilly-1 ( Finely Chopped) Salt - As required Curry leaves- for garnishing Mustard seeds & cumin seeds- 1 tbsp Red Chilli powder- 1/2- 3/4 tbsp Method: Soak Idly rice for 2 hrs and in a blender add drained Idly rice, Grated Coconut, Coriander leaves and make a fine paste. the batter you are preparing should be like a dosa batter Pour the batter in an oil coated idly plates and allow it get cooked for 15 mins in a medium flame. Take the Idly plates outside and allow it to cool for some time. Now in a pressure cooker cook the moong dhal and keep it aside. In a Heavy bottomed pan add tbsp of oil, mustard seeds & cumin seeds and onions and saute well till the onion becomes golden brown in colour. Now add the cooked moong dhal and mix well, to that add 1/2- 3/4 tbsp of chilli powder and curry leaves and allow the mixture to boil. Once the Idllies becomes cool, cut them into pieces. (Cube shaped) Now add the cut idlis to the dhal mixture and mix well. Now our hot and delicious Coriander Dhal Idly is ready to serve. Happy Cooking!!! Try out the recipe and share your comments!!
