Alt Media as the New Mainstream – OWS S-17 Press Workshop - Presenters and Streamers Sought Jerry Ashton Blogger for Huffington Post and Freelance Radio Blogger chronicling Social Activism. Who’s in for taking Mainstream Media off the Pedestal and Replacing them withCitizen Journo’s? I have been invited by to search out and enroll independent journo’s, bloggers, broadcast and streaming media folk to participate in a one-time workgroup as part of Occupy’s day-long third birthday party which will take place in Zuccotti Park on September 17, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. directly following the press event. The 90-minute workshop will feature “How-To” tutorials by successful bloggers, editors, writers, journalists, photographers and live-streamers as well as engaged political conversations on the demise of MSM and the rise of AltMedia. The intention is to livestream and record this event so that the lessons transmitted can be revisited time and again by those intending to contribute to what we once knew as “freedom of the press” and what we now see as “bought-and-paid-for press.” We invite press activists with proven credentials to register their names and apply for an opportunity to deliver one of the 10-minute sessions we will feature.
