Alternating Z-Presses Z- presses I was introduced to a while back, and is a movement that doesnt show up too regularly BUT the only reason being that they require a lot of upper and lower body mobility, and are tougher than they look. One of the main technique problems with overhead pressing especially as the weight gets heavy is that lifters tend to lean back to complete their rep/s. The Z-press more so eliminates this and has a heavy core and upper back demand to remain stable and in control of each rep. Here Im doing these with DBs for volume, but regular BB Z-presses from pins/rack are what is more commonly seen. Give the Z-press a crack and youll be surprised and the challenge of this gem.
