Alternating between karri trees and whales. Thank you, Simone - TopicsExpress

Alternating between karri trees and whales. Thank you, Simone Keane , for a sensitive and beautiful interpretation of the lyric. Karris in Sunlight (Words by Giles Watson. Music and performance by Simone Keane.) Sun seeps through the canopy a swirl is in the air; the karri trees like maidens are letting loose their hair. Parrots chink out “twenty-eight” – red-caps preen and fly among the tresses of the trees that trail into the sky. Wattle-birds chase currawongs, garrulous in flight, weaving through the pearly twigs and leaves that flash to white, for karri trees wear birds for charms on locks that fall and rise – with twitching tails and clasping toes and opals in their eyes – and at the shaking of their hair the dancing has begun; I lie down on the grass with you one last time in the sun. Sun seeps through the canopy; the leaves unweave and sigh. Together under dancing trees we learn to live and die. https://youtube/watch?v=c-GYCN85IMM
