Although I havent spent this year competing & coming home in rosettes, me & Nemo have won in so many other ways. He learnt to walk ( yes walk!) on the lunge rather than galloping off for 10 min before settling down. Weve hacked out in front & now behind in all kinds of traffic & met all kinds of spooky things along the way & survived. Weve jumped around senior BSJA courses( all be it in schooling mode!) & iv only suffered one fall in the process. Weve encountered the beach & the sea which he got to like once he realised the waves werent going to eat him. And tonite, I long-reined him for the first time, which for those who know Nemo, someone standing behind him giving he orders is a big thing, something I wouldnt have been able to do 2 yrs ago without ending in hospital. Just goes to show a quieter environment, routine, consistency and never giving up pays off, its NOT about going out and winning in the ring all the time. Saying that all my rosettes are getting dusty so time for some new ones. Watch out me and Nemo and on our way!!!!
