Although I seldom listen to the secular rock music ever since I - TopicsExpress

Although I seldom listen to the secular rock music ever since I became an Evangelical Christian, I realized the fact that there were many intriguing motifs and symbols out of the Biblical worldview among secular rock musicians in the English-speaking nations, especially those from the USA. In a sense, the Western nations, especially the USA, are still under the deep influence of Judeo-Christian world view. For example. In John Bonjovi’s song “Blaze of Glory” (1990), Bon Jovi refers to several characters from Genesis, such as Cain and Abel in his lyrics. Besides, he introduces the idea that human beings were born in the original sin, when he describes lone ranger’s life in the midst of the wild west during the age of the westward movement in the mid-19th Century of America (Bonjovi 1990). As the Western culture is still deeply influenced by Christian worldview, one cannot understand its depth without understanding Christian worldview.
