Although Im not a religious person, I can, and do, embrace aspects - TopicsExpress

Although Im not a religious person, I can, and do, embrace aspects of most of the worlds religions and spiritualitys, and live them on my pathless path. I have been supportive, and vocally so, about the positive impressions Ive gleaned from Pope Francis. He is a breath of fresh air in the Catholic tradition, I find him progressive and open to expanding the culture of his faith. All that being said, it makes me very sad that the pope refused the invitation to meet with His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. What a moment that would have been, such a healing could have come from that meeting, if only on an etheric level. Instead, the Pope stayed stuck in fear of the Chinese Communist regime. Why oh why? It makes no sense to me! Oh, the reasons stated- Because of the delicate situation with China, and for obvious reasons How pathetic. China, who has a solid record of human rights abuse. Which includes of course, the slaughter of millions of peace-loving Tibetans. Netfilx is currently airing the brilliant film, Seven Years in Tibet. I watched it last night, first time since seeing it at the theater. Wow, a must watch. And seeing this film again, now, makes me even more sad about the popes declining the request.
