Although my mom continues to fail her breathing trials, everyday she is more feisty. On Monday night, although restrained, she was able to pull her breathing tube out. The doctor who ran to her side said she smiled like a cat who just ate the canary. Unfortunately, they needed to put the tube back in. She is now restrained with boxing gloves and will hit the doctor with the glove when they are by her bedside. She does not like that tube. Yestsrday, while I visited, I let her hands free. When two of my cousins came in, she pointed to one, and then the nurse, back to him and then the nurse (and then pointed to his brother and shook her head and finger no). It became obvious she was trying to fix up the brother without the girlfriend. The nurse told her she was married and my mom shrugged her shoulders with the expression, I tried. Love her determination. Please pray that she will have the strength to breath on her own.
